Do you ever wonder if this church is right for you? Do you not feel like you belong? Here are 6 signs it may be time to move on

If you have been a member or a visitor of a church for some time and start noticing things that bother you, it may be time to move on. Feeling wanted and involved in your church is a cornerstone to a strong church relationship.

Here are 6 signs it may be time to move on

If your church feels more like a place of gossip than a place of faith and love it may be time to move on. Gossip is something that should never happen anywhere especially in a church. We go to church to worship, learn and fellowship with each other and not to gossip or create drama.

Has the church become more about money than about faith & religion? Is the number one priority of the church to fill the offering plate more than anything else?

Does the words of the bible get twisted to promote an agenda instead of spreading the love of God or education of religion? Is the word used more for control than it is to teach? Does it appear that the bible is used more to induce fear than to promote love?

Does your church appear more like children are a burden than a future of the church? Is there any involvement for children of all ages in the church or is it treated more like a daycare during church services

Do you have any say at all in the church? Is your opinion ever asked for? Does one or a few have entire control over all in the church? Does the church try to control every aspect of your life outside the church?

Is there any involvement in the community at all? Any outreach programs?

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them

Moving On

A church is a supposed to be a place of Love and Fellowship. A place to learn and worship as a family while showing compassion to our fellow men/women. A church is not a for profit business, an exclusion group, a cult, a bingo hall full of gossip or a place of control. The church is not and was never meant to be a place where children are excluded since they are the future of the church. Jesus, community outreach and involvement of children should be the cornerstones of any church.

The church is the people and not the building, not the bank account, not the cliques and certainly not a misguided mission.

If you feel uncomfortable attending your church and don’t see positive change; then move on. Find a church that makes you feel as if you are home.

Acts 2:47
